Very good list. Some PR have changed with time, but I believe those websites are still the best around. I would add also Goarticles.

I’m building backlinks by submitting several articles to several article directories. But after a few days I check the backlink checker to no avail. I know some of them are dofollow. I wonder what causes things like this could happen.
