Many SEO Clients Lose Their Rankings on Google, But Not Ours!
Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal featured an article by Sara Needleman and Amir Efrati on the new Google algorithm update. They interviewed a few business owners who had lost their Google ranking and, consequently, a lot of their business from Google users due to the latest Google algorithm update (this happened in late 2010).
Not only did our clients not lose their rankings, but the they have gained rankings instead.
Here is why: Google has traditionally devalued “duplicate” content. If your site’s content has been copied from any other site indexed by Google, your site would be penalized severely – even if portions of your site are duplicate. Read the blog post I wrote on duplicate content syndrome.
So, the respected writers needed to emphasize that the SEO companies that these mid-size and giant corporations are working with were not paying attention to this SEO-101 lesson.
I suggest they interview some of our clients next time, too.
Amongst the clients that gained in rank were www.mavenlive.com for their very competitive keywords including: physical therapy software. Today, they’re ranking #1 in Canada and #3 worldwide.
We didn’t have a single client lose their rankings with Google.

That is interesting I have 3 web pages slightly different for different market. Nobody ever told me that I was penalized for it. All 3 are registered in my name. I am using template, does it mean I am penalized because someone somewhere use same elements. Google when asked respond that my field interior decorating is not significant for economy. I have to admit. Yesterday I was passing through wealthy suburb. Another upscale furniture store is closing.
Hi Krystyna,
You can still grow your business. I suggest you visit our testimonials page . Every single one of our clients is increasing their business from Google.
My problem was, that Google asked about about decrease of traffic was not specific what penalties are for. Using service of professional web designer sometimes is too costly. I need to update my pages frequently.
but if you are posting real and unique content on your website then there is no reason to penalize. but still one of my website penalized by google and i don’t know the reason.
Oh No, Means no more value for duplicated contents at google.
I have a question, if i read an article and rewrite it with changes is this a case of duplicated contents??
thank’s master, very helpfull information,,,, good luck!
I am a member of Traffic Geyser, which advocates creating original content, then uploading it to as many video, blog, article, etc. sites as possible. Is posting the same content to multiple sites counter-productive?
@sumit
There could be many reasons including keyword-stuffing, door-way pages, etc. Give us your url and we’ll take a look.
@Salman Qamar
If you re-write the article in a way that it’s no longer word-for-word, it does not constitute as duplicate content. News sites do this all the time and Google ranks them all well.
@Bob Niemerow
It is counter productive to post the same content on multiple sites (such as article syndication). The original site that has that content normally gets the credit and the rest are ignored by Google.
@sumit
Content on my web pages is not unique. There is 20 different home decor catalogs. For example e-salerugs. This catalog is popping up on Internet 100 times/day. In addition they have I don’t know how many back links like my web page. Still my major problem is, that Google is refusing to answer question for what I am being penalized. Google offered my me promoting my page. For trail they closed my traffic. There was ZERO. There was not even one visitor. When I started protesting they send me e-mail how successful they are and how much I should pay for it. If I am penalized for e-salerugs means existence of back link is penalized. Catalogs which I have are provided with different front page. How come Google does not spider repetition. That I don’t understand.
@Ali Husayni
Thanks.
Brother Ali thanks for all your suggestions.
I have some websites, but few days ago I have noticed that those sites traffics are increasing. but 2 or 3 months ago traffic was not so good on that sites may be I am getting advantage of using unique content. But I want more visitors to my site and I want that the visitors stay on my site. So how can I do that…?
I am seo expert and in my opinion the new algorithm is best & great piece of work because i am working for a site, its domain age is only 1 year and its onsite optimization is great that is why its getting high rank and Click Through Rate. If we talk about Page Rank than its PR0 site and the new algorithm not entertained with Page Rank what you think so???
@Royal
Nice site… Use larger font for your text, use bullets and have call-to-actions on your site.
You don’t need to keep the visitor longer on your site, what you need is to have them contact you as soon as they land on the page.
@Sami Khan
Good job Sami,
Google PR is almost as good as a 1998 Chevy. It’s outdated and a lot of times doesn’t reflect the quality of your site.
@Ali Husayni
My 2000 CHEVY BLAZER in 2 years needed 1 front light bulb. I bought it with slightly uneven lights. It last for 1 1/2 year. It turned to be some other brand something generic. I know car owners who have had more problems with newer cars. With new Google my traffic dropped from 30 something % to 3% . My old CHEVY is running perfectly.
Chevy blazers used to be good. I agree. Have you heard of Chevy Cavalier? I was once a used-car sales person (back in college days in 2003). I sold one of these cars to a client for $2,000. Sometimes I have nightmares over that sale.
Google is good… You just need to learn how to play it. Some of my clients make more than a million dollars a year just from Google.
I am a car killer. My previous one was ’97 /98 Saturn sedan I bought it in 2000. Couple years later dealer wanted trade for Cavalier but I find it ugly and Saturn was still running well. Chevy Blazer I bought in 2009 as refurbished, so I was not really on market for Chevy Cavalier. I have to admit I noticed less of them on a street, what I attributed to production volume not quality. Now I understand your point. That is a reason I join blogs like your, to figure how other businesses are making with it. I was rejected by Groupon. They were very flattering and explained me their policy. It was not quality of my business, but volume of clients I can handle. They compared my business to yoga classes, according to Groupon there is such massive dropout that they can sell hundreds of memberships for one studio and studio will easily accommodate it.
Thanks for the reply ALI
I have a client who gave me a site which already has 5000 visitors per month..and he want to make it 10000 visitors per month in the end of this year..So how can I do this can you please tell me ? @top seo
and placing a comment here is not going to help you with your rank because links here are “nofollow”.
Hey… we rank on the first page for your keyword: “top SEO”…
My business depends a lot on overall economy. It is not necessity but sort of luxury to use interior decorating service. RE market is in Chicago is not bad enough for staging. I am in a position I don’t need massive traffic, I need quality traffic. I talked to some SEO lately and now he doesn’t want talk to me. I am in affiliated marketing there is 20 home decor catalogs my SEO wanted reorganize all of them. He wanted redesign my pages. That was overwhelming for micro business and my business was to micro for him. Hiring SEO is not so easy like some people may think. That is a reason I am here to figure how to do it on my own.

I asked this many people but they couldn’t give me the right answer. I am little bit confuse that how can i get 5000 visitors in this 7 or 8 month……if any idea tell me please.
Help them get better rankings for more keywords. That should get them what they need. Also, BEFORE you sign up a client, you should think about what, when, how you’re going to help them.
few days ago My website’s Google ranking was good, and stay 1 or 2 position on Google search engine. However Now it doesn’t stay Google search engine. what’s problem? help me.
If they do SEO on a website and then get the reality of losing rankings in google. My question about what they’re doing so that his client’s bad luck. And What do you do so that your clients do not suffer the loss of rank, and even continued to increase. Did not they also say he was an expert SEO techniques.
@dhon
I would need to spend some time on your site to see what the issue may be.
@Idrus
What we do is 100% white-hat SEO that will never get Google to penalize our sites. Nothing shady or spammy. That’s all.
how to create unique content, without submit article everyday?
I need to know how to create 301 redirect for my blog with blogspot.com for a twin homepage
please help my blog brothers team Seo Mastergoogle.com I have a blog site http://www.acehsoftware.info and I want get with 301 redirect too with acehsoftware.info too,, what must I do or please help me my email login and pasword still not change it
Especially after the panda update, Google has been a lot harsher on scraped or duplicate content. Unique and well-written content is rising to the top quickly. Just keep it targeted toward the keywords your looking to rank on and write a post or two per week. Before you know it you’ll see traffic starting to come in.
